Medtronic Plaza traditionally opens three hours before kickoff. Visitors may find live entertainment, sponsor activities, merchandise, food and drinks outside the stadium.

The Commons also hosts game-day activities and public tailgate events.

The Vikings state that passes for designated tailgating lots are normally sold on a season-long basis. Single-game passes are not generally available through the official programme.

Forty-five minutes before kickoff: Enter the stadium

The Vikings recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before kickoff. Guests requiring accessibility assistance are encouraged to arrive approximately one hour early.

1Open the digital ticket

Digital tickets are the only ticket format accepted for entry to Vikings games at U.S. Bank Stadium. Have the ticket open before joining the line, and remember that screenshots may not work because many mobile tickets use a changing security code.

The closest entrance may be printed on the digital ticket. Using that entrance can reduce the distance between the gate and the assigned seating section.

After the game: Leaving downtown

The largest crowds leave immediately after the final whistle. Light rail platforms, nearby roads and rideshare zones can become heavily congested. Visitors who are not in a hurry may find it easier to remain in the stadium area briefly before beginning the return journey.

A short history of U.S. Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium replaced the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome on the same downtown Minneapolis site.

Construction was completed in slightly more than two and a half years. The stadium officially opened on July 22, 2016, with a public open house that welcomed more than 190,000 visitors.

The Vikings recorded their first preseason victory in the building against the San Diego Chargers on August 28, 2016. Their first regular-season win followed against the Green Bay Packers on September 18.

The stadium hosted Super Bowl LII in February 2018 and the NCAA Men's Final Four in April 2019. Its fixed translucent roof and large glass sections were designed to provide natural light while protecting events from Minnesota's winter weather.
