Write for Us
We welcome pitches from Vikings fans with something original to say.
Minnesota Vikings IO is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with the Minnesota Vikings or the NFL, and writing for us does not give you any connection to the team.
Who we are looking for
You do not need to be a professional writer. If you follow the Vikings closely and have an idea you can back up, we would like to hear it. That might be film study, a statistical deep dive, a piece of team history, or a guide for fans traveling to a game.
What we look for
- Original analysis: an angle or argument you have worked out yourself, not a summary of what everyone else has written.
- Sourced facts: statistics, quotes and claims that link to where they came from.
- Clear writing: plain language that a casual fan can follow.
- Honest labeling: opinion presented as opinion, and projections presented as projections.
What we do not accept
- Paid posts, sponsored content or advertorials.
- Link placements or articles written to promote another website.
- AI-generated articles, or content copied or lightly rewritten from other sources.
- Content that promotes betting, sportsbooks or gambling offers.
- Pieces already published elsewhere.
- Rumors without a credible, named source, or personal attacks on players, staff or other fans.
Requests for paid posts or links will not receive a reply.
How to pitch
- Use our contact form and choose the topic “Write for us (pitch)”, or email hello@minnesotavikings.io.
- Tell us your idea in a few sentences: the headline, the main argument, and why it matters now.
- Mention the sources or data you plan to use.
- If you have written before, include a link or two. It is not required.
Please send a pitch rather than a finished article. It saves you time if the idea is not right for us.
What happens next
We read every pitch. If we are interested, we will reply to talk it through. If you do not hear back, we have decided not to take the idea forward this time. You are welcome to pitch it elsewhere.
We do not currently pay for contributions.
Editing and bylines
- Accepted pieces are edited for accuracy, clarity, length and our editorial policy. We will check any significant changes with you before publishing.
- If your piece is published, it is credited to you by name, with your consent.
- If we find an error after publication, we correct it in line with our corrections policy.
How we handle the details you send is explained in our privacy policy.
