Vikings vs Steelers

Two of the NFL's most storied franchises rarely share a schedule — the Vikings play in the NFC, the Steelers in the AFC — but their history includes a Super Bowl and, in 2025, the first-ever NFL regular-season game played in Ireland. The all-time series sits tied at 10-10.

Series overview

A series split evenly across six decades

The Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers have never played in the same division or conference, so their history is made up almost entirely of occasional inter-conference games plus one Super Bowl. Since the Vikings joined the NFL in 1961, the two teams have met just 20 times, and the all-time record could not be closer: the series is tied at 10-10.

The Steelers hold the biggest result: a 16-6 win in Super Bowl IX, Pittsburgh's first championship of its dynasty era. The Vikings, though, have won the regular-season series 10-9. Their most recent meeting was historic in its own right — the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Ireland, at Croke Park in Dublin in September 2025.

A 2026 regular-season matchup between the Vikings and Steelers is not on Minnesota's confirmed schedule. This page is a statistical and historical reference, not a preview of an upcoming game.

Franchise comparison

Vikings vs Steelers: team comparison

Pittsburgh is not on Minnesota's 2026 schedule, and one week into the season (Minnesota opened with a 39-22 home win over Green Bay on September 13) there is no meaningful current-season sample, so this compares the two franchises rather than in-season statistics.
